European Male Ageing Study (EMAS)
A large European cohort study of 3,369 men from eight centres (one in Santiago de Compostela) that defined the criteria for late-onset hypogonadism based on three sexual symptoms plus thresholds for total and free testosterone. It provided the prevalence figure of 2.1% in men over 40.
