All-cause mortality
In the ASPREE trial, all-cause mortality was 12.7 per 1,000 person-years with aspirin compared with 11.1 with placebo (HR 1.14; 95% CI 1.01-1.29), with cancer being the main contributor; the authors point out that this is a signal rather than an established causal relationship.
